Mk 2 Exhaust Problems

I dont know if members are aware but I have had to have a new exhaust box fitted on my car which is 1 year old due to in car rattle/vibrations at 80mph. My dealer in Ashford has now had to do three 172s this year.

The fitting still hasnt cured the problem and they were going to come back to me after speaking direct with Renault in France.

Has anybody had the same problem??

How many miles have you done in yours? I have had mine since January 2002 and have done 4,000 miles with no problems as yet! Would the exhaust problem be down to age, mileage or the way the car has been driven?

Ive only done 5,000 miles. The problem started after about 2,000. do drive the car reasonably hard [who wouldnt] but it appears Im not the only one.

Its more of an annoying buzz whilst accelerating and driving at between 70 and 80 and the only way to get rid of it is to go slower or faster, or turn the stereo up.
