mk1 1.9d fuel filter..

went to get a fuel filter from halfords for the 1.9d (P regd) and they list two in the book

one is for a car with a bosch filter and ones for a CVA or something filter?

how do i tell which is the right one for my car?

odd thing is on the computer system they only list the one part number though?

Why do you need one there good for 150k minimum.#

get under the car and have as look which is fitted if you have tow options one often looks different. Or if there two thery are the same part looks wise just different copy cat manurfacturers.

always thought diesel fuel filters wre pretty vital as diesel drags so much s**t through?
its on 134k.

arent they in the engine bay next to the strut/battery??

Sorry your right I'm thinking about the low pressure filter.

Yep thee two types from memory you should be able to tell apart one has a drain hole on the top or the bottom the other doesn't.

What kind of mileage are the Diesel engines good for?

The 1.9 n/a in the Mk1s are bullet proof, most sound like tractors now though - if you can live with the sound you can't beat them for a workhorse. Freds got one I think, and I've seen a few on 150k ish. Regular oil and filters the way forward.

yeah befor ei bought it some people said they are bullet proof

bought mine on 130 k, and its on 134k now.

get free oil from work and filters are 3 quid from halfords so regular oil changes arent a problem

i start mine, drive about 3 mile down dual carriageway to work and then stop it so it doesnt get treat too well. also had it flat out on way back from warrington and it showed 115 on the clocks downhill (pro about 100 real life) lol!

its quite nippy though for round town. does its job and its cheap. :)
