mk1 172 sterio

  Trophy #473
Im happy with my 172's standard sterio but would like the extra depth a sub gives music, so is there any way i can give my strandard sterio more bass, dont want to chav it out, been there done that, but just was extra bass. is there any way i can hook up a 8" sub to the standard sterio. I was thinking of hiding one in the rear spare tyre well, or replacing the two rear speakers with 8" subwoofers?

yes, no or am i being gay.

I adjusted the fader so about 70% was powering the front speakers, probably not what your after but try it, it does make a difference as the rears seem to reduce the sound quality

you can't, you need pre outs for an amp....unless you want to run a sub off normal wiring loom...which wouldnt work very well for s**t.

You can use a high to low level converter to get a set of rca outputs from the speaker outputs. Not brilliant really and it isn't the best for sq but it'll work.
Did this with my mates Punto so he could keep the standard hu and use some subs he was given.
