I know your problem it happened to me last weekend!!! First you have to adjust the bolts right in this lowers it a bit, also loosen the bolts on the left and right hand side of the brace the next bit you will love or hate!! take the cladding off the bonnet, next try and gently shut the bonnet, it will not shut but when you open it again you will see some red marks on your bonnet from the brace. They you have to get a angle grinder and cut some of the inner skin out!! so the brace will fit it. the mrk 1 bonnets are different from the mrk2's and cups. I will post up a couple of pics for you to show you where to cut. It was also handy to have a bit of red paint to put on the strutbrace so when you shut the bonnet you can see where you need to cut. But it looks good when you get it on.
