shouldnt race anyone, as its means your acting like a bit of a prick lol.

tbh, its not about the speed its about the driver, so many variables cant really say for certiain. will stay up there with most hot hatches, be close with a CTR, standard golf gti etc should easily out pace a fezza st, vts etc

Avoid racing on the road. Invariably the winner will always be the prick in the £50 nova with no brain or skill who'll take life threatening chances just to get ahead.

maybe racing is the wrong word, should of said when a prick gets up my arse (mainly old men in bmw`s or pricks in saabs and also CTR drivers) who can i blow away and who will just think im being a prick and trying to race him?

^ lol fair play mate. old men in bmw's generally cant drive so you'll out do them. Go on a page like parkers etc and have a look at some figures

id take the car to a track and race them on there, you cant use any cars full potential (spl) on the road

  audi a6 3.0tdi
don't race bmw 335's as these will make you look like a 1.2 as i found out much to the amusement of the bmw driver. also diesel audi's on the motorways will out accelerate you. ps nice car

Stay clear from scoobies and evo's everything is fair chance but i'd stay away from ctr's too .

bloody ell ...errr stay away from cups too ;) .

:nono: dont race ....it's silly .

You should drive sensibly at all times, unless its a corsa wiv dem combat bodykit innit, then all road rules are null and void!!!

  Honda Civic Type R
me..........coz you'll be left standing lol!

as for CTR drivers getting up your arse, you might find this happens a lot. but as a CTR driver, I can tell you that clio's do it to us just as much if not more. i've loast count of the times i've had a clio in my boot. not that I mind, it's fair game and all. when it comes to street racing or putting your foot down to lose the bloke behind you, I think it's down to the individual to assess the situation and if he thinks it's ok then go ahead and have a little blast. obviously racing round town at school run hour in a 30 mph zone and you should be taked off the road.if I see pricks doing this I steer well clear but that's just common sense isn't it

good post by the way. because lets face it. you've got a quick car and so you're gonna wanna have a little fun every now and then. and like Ali-Frazier, Eubank-Benn, Lewis-Tyson, Spurs-Arsenal etc etc the Civic and Clio are always gonna be rivals on the road and the majority of people who drive them are gonna have that competetiveness and try to 'pull a gap' or 'nose ahead' of the other. come to think of it it's all quite pointless and immature but boys will be boys and I for one love a little race.

just remember the driver of the other car could be a dangerous prick or simply just can't handle his car at speeds or the bend could be blind or whatever. in these cases it's best to just stop as it's not wotrth your life (or someone else's):nono:

that's my headmaster bit out the way

I've dreaded the day this would happen, but here it is.

The mk1 172 is now officially in the chav's buying range.

^^ Glad I have a 182, will be a few years yet.

Thing is though the insurance isnt exactly in the CHAV range, most people have matured by the time they can pay sensible amounts for insurance.

Yep....good to see insurance premiums high for young scrotes.....keeps them out of the good 172s

lets face it mate it is in the male instinct to be competative. Obviously you see racing in a different light to me. Im not talking about dangerous round town boy racing cus lets face it we are adults here(some of us) but im talking about on a dual carriage way when you got some geezer or maybe a lady(dont want to offend anyone) up ya arse and giving you the come-on, and as for chav mate come on they cant afford the insurance and lets face it a 172 aint for them they prefer suped-up XR3I or novas.:rasp:

maybe a lady, giving you the come-on

I would usually glace in the mirror and so long as its not got 2 heads, pull over and proceed to at very least swap numbers :rasp:

On the topic in question, strip it out and make it as light as possible and a lot of things will be fair game in reality upto legal speeds. However racing on the roads is a bit nobbish

ok, maybe I was a bit to harsh, considering I haven't got the slightest idea what kind of person you are really, but IMO a mature driver doesn't concern himself with what cars could outrun him on his daily commute or a spirited drive, but rather enjoys his car for what it is

you drive a quick car, mate, but these days you can get your booty whipped by practicaly any random car, there's no telling when you run into a sleeper

and if you are wondering how quick your car really is...why speculate? The track is waiting. ;)
