If it was registered between 1991 & 1993 its a phase one like mine
If it was registered between 1994 & April 1996 its a phase two
If it was registered between May 1996 & April 1998 it's a phase 3
Differences
Phase 1:
Clio "Phase 1" range introduced.
1.2, 1.4 and 1.8 litre "Energy" petrol engines, 1.9 Diesel. 1.2 RL models have 4-Speed gearbox, RN has 5-Speed, tints, sunroof. 1.4/1.8 RT has electric windows, remote locking, rev counter (1.8 available as a 5-Door only).
Phase 2:
"Phase 2" facelift introduced. New front grille, dark tinted rear lights, black tailgate lower trim panel, side impact bars and seat belt tensioners. 1.2 RN models gain power steering. 1.4 RT gains 16V-style dash, with wider instrument pod. 16V models have new rounded five-spoke alloys. 1.8 Baccara introduced (5-door only), replacing 1.4 - 90 bhp, automatic.
Phase 3:
"Phase 3" facelift introduced. New front-end treatment with rounder lights, new bumpers, high-level brake light. New steering wheel, interior revisions. 5-speed gearbox and driver's airbag standard across the range. New 1.2 litre engine with multi-point injection (still 60 bhp). 1.4 litre models reduced to 75 bhp, RT models gain body-colour bumpers and mirrors. RSi gains alarm/immobiliser, 16V-style dash with extra gauges. 16V model no longer available
May 1998 Mark 2 Clio introduced.
