Mk1 engine conversion

I was discussing this with sum1 yesterday. In the very near future my mk1 will be subjected to a 5 gt turbo conversion, but as they said its still using an old engine. What does anyone think of a 172 conversion, as there are a few 16v concersions and want something different?:D

  53 Clio's & counting
in my opinion yes,but thats just mine lol, look at my old one (the one martin rolled) basic breathin mods and i only ever lost to an amg merc with 450 bhp lol,i used to eat things like scoobys and 350z's for breakfast........

the F7 engine is much easier and cheaper to tune that the 172 F4 engines, mainly because the 172 engines already use wild 260+ duration cams... which is what the F7 owners tend to upgrade to... but make more power.

IMO go for the Willy engine if your going to tune it, otherwise go for the 172 engine for more reliability, as it's a tad newer and component revisions will be massive.
