Mk1 V6 prices

I currently have a 172 Cup but in a few years time I would like to consider a MK1 V6. What Im interested in is when do you think the prices for these cars will bottom out? What do people think the prices will settle at for a car with usual mileage?

From looking at Auto Trader at the moment there are very few if any under £15k. Will prices hold up or will they drop a little to say £12k eventually.

I think now that people realise the MK2 isnt much better, the MK1 prices with creep up a little. Looks and style will win the day.

yeah they were going down to an average 15k but have creeped up slightly in the last few months.

Tim, Just how long ago did you see one for under £15k on Autotrader?? I just looked and the cheapest one on there is £15,895 With 31,800 miles!

Try the link....

I dont think they will come down much in a year, cos a year ago they were still £16000 for that same kind of higher mileage V6 MK1!

Tim you say a few years.................how few will determine how low the price will be.................if you can get hold of a Glasss guide then you can work out the depreciation fairly accurately.

Heres one on ebay: -

My mk1 cost me £16k with 10,000 miles on it a year ago. In that year I have covered 6,000 miles and dont think it would have lost much money if anything. The prices seemed to dip around the release of the mk2, but are creeping back up again.

I am keeping the V for as long as it takes to become a classic (IMO it will be one day). Just got a second car so I can garage the V and only use it at weekends. Should reduce the mileage to about 3k per year, although it is very hard to not use it during the week knowing its sitting there!!!!!!
