Mk2 172 HELP !!!

Hi guys wonder if anyone could help me here, Ive got a Mk2 172 and it wont start! It all started yesturday when it wood start sometimes but not others And 2day it wont start at all. You turn the key u hear a click and the starter motor for a few seconds and then silence

Is this a known problem? And is it easily fixed?

hmm

its not a common fault that i know of?

if u can hear the relay maybe the battery lead is disconnected? u checked that?

maybe a stuck immobiliser circuit too?

I think its the starter motor m8, my dad just told me to put it in second and rock it and then try start it and it works fine. Stil under warantee so ill take it to the deal thru the week

the immobilser things in the key an around the ignition can be dodgy too. Very intermittant too!!
