The girlfriend has a 2002 clio 1.6 16v.
It has come to our notice that there is lot of movement in the gearstick indicating the gearbox mount is warn.
But the real problems is it has also developed a whining sound. This is most noticable in 5th gear under load but can also be heard not as loud in 1st and 2nd gear.
Am I right in saying this is the dif and the gearbox will need to be replaced?
If so is it a difficult task? What will it cost? Which models have the same gearbox?
