Mk3 Clio 2007 Dynamique s, Hazard lights permanently on

  Clio
Hi, wondering if anyone can shed some light on my Clio. More or less since my ownership of this car, it’s had a persistent alarm fault which seemed to only occur when the weather was cold and the off time over night. Didn’t think much of it until it got worse which lead me to a rabbit hole of trying to sort it out which lead to me buying a new car and forgetting it.

Furthermore the car has sat for 6 months and the battery has been disconnected. The battery has now been fully charged as it’s time to sell. I plugged it back in and my hazards are on with no ignition start and just the battery plugged in and they stay on after turning the ignition on. I have spent countless hours trying to figure the cause. From a new button for the hazard lights (didn’t work) to stripping the dash. Drying the BCM with dehumidifiers. Clearing scuttle panels. Long story short the common issues aren’t there. No damp floor, no damp BCM, no faulty hazard switch.

Only strange thing I can think of is the car has an after market alarm causing this issue. However when researching it’s home. Google and forums tell me it’s here there and everywhere. My back left boot carpet on the wall has a chock block on a cable connecting to some random cables and a black oem connector pin at the bottom cut. Which I think was the alarm. I can’t find one in my engine bay…

My next guess is remove the outgoings of this chock block and see if that solves it and get a obd reader on the car to try delete this fault. Other than that I’m lost and I feel like it’s just better to scrap her. The cars done 49k miles and it’s got so much life left and I don’t want to scrap it for £100.

Please help me with my alarm/hazard lights fault

Ps the hazards are on as if you pressed the button. No fancy flash pattern. Just normal.
