I-Music 1.5 DCi 86
I'm posting this in the hope that CS members will help clear this issue up for me once and for all - As you may have read in my intro, the car was bought in 2010 on a gap insurance claim as a "near as we can make it" replacement for a Dynamique S. The S had an engine cover. The I-Music did not... I enquired about this both on the day of collection and on the phone a few weeks later. The answer I received both times was "some come with them, some come without these days" or words to that effect.
Now, I'm not stupid, I know how things work at dealerships. I think it may have gone something like "oh ****, I need an engine cover for a DCi in a hurry, give me the one off that new black Clio and I'll order one for it later" etc etc... I'm fairly sure that given the fact there are mounting points on the top of the engine for a cover, there's supposed to be a cover on it. Is anyone else driving a DCi facelift with no engine covers, or am I the only one? I've looked through dozens of thread pages here on CS and other renault forums which clearly show 1.5 DCi Clios with a set of engine covers. My bay may not be anything special to look at in the first place given that it's a Diesel, but it would look a lot better with a Reanult badge and some black plastic covering the engine.
I'm calling the dealer today or tomorrow about this, and if I can get some concrete evidence that they're supposed to be on it, I'll be demanding that a set be ordered for me.
