Ah, when I said welcome to 2011, although the car is a bit marmite, I wasn't on about that! The last post before yours was in 2011 in this thread! ;)

What are your plans for it? Not a bad car, just enjoy it and don't go mad on the MoDz!

Ahh my bad! I cant find anyother mk3 threads!

I have a set of 197 front seats going in it, and everything else will be transferable to my next car in a year or two!
16 inch turinis, new suspension/ used set of coils, and just little bits!

But i need ideas haha!

Stick up a new thread, a project one. Put as many photos as you can up, list your plans and update it as and when you do anything to it. People can also give you personal advice in there also.

This is where you'll want to make the thread mate;

Without spending some serious wedge on it, you won't find a huge amount that's transferable.

The bodywork is different, the wheels on the sports are 5 stud, and non-sports are 4 stud, etc.
The trim on the front grill is interchangeable, as well as the spoiler, bullets (on the door trim), Steering wheels, pedals, and some of the interior trim.

Honestly, if you're changing it for definite in a couple of years, I would do very little if it were me. I've had my DCI 3 years now and changed the wheels and suspension, and that's pretty much it.

If you're 21+, been driving for 2 years, speak to @Neil@greenlight in regards to insuring you on a 197/200. 197's can be had cheap enough but it may just be the insurance that stings you.

Thats all im really looking to do, would be a few interior peices but i would want to make sure it fit before i bought it!

Id be going for turinis because of the 4 stud situation, with suspension setup to give it a better fit.

Really?
Im looking at 750 for the 1.4 Dynamique S and its only a 2006 model!

whats the MPG on a 197/200? id be after something decent as ill be travelling to and from placement and the 1.4 gets around 40mpg,

i couldnt do any less than 28Mpg to make it worth while if i was upgrading!!

Yeah, there's a couple of issues with a 197.
Exhaust flexis, mpg & gearbox.

Same with any cars however, they all have their pros and cons.
Whats the problems with the gearbox?

This is the decision thats swaying me away from a 197 :(
Twingo 133 looks a better option, or even another brand,

I get about 26mpg from my 200! And that's mainly round town at the moment.. All depends how you drive it though!!

Some of the early 2007 models had a dodgy gearbox where the synchromesh fails afaik and need replacing.
If you opt for the 197, when test driving it, get your revs about 5000rpm in 3rd gear and then change to 4th to see if there is any crunching.
Mines an early 2007 and my gearbox is spot on - it only affected x amount.
