MK3 Steering wheel controls

Evening all, about to change the stereo in my new to me mk3 (59 plate)

Does it require any dash removal at all, or will it all fit behind the new HU??

In my mk2 i had to remove the dash, and plug into the back of the clock!!

Can anybody shed any light?!
