mods on clio cup

I get my new clio cup next week. Has anybody got any advice on mods and their cost?

Chip (No idea, someone will tell you as you cant chip a 172, but a cups ok) , induction kit (£40-90 or £200+ for a viper), lowering (£115 for a basic 30 or 40mm drop inc fitting). Where you from mate, and welcome to the club

Depend on how much you ant to spend a cold air intake and pannel filter would be the best gains IMO for money. No idea on cos but about £250 Id guess.

After that cleaned up manifold and new cams are about £600.

Any more than 190hp though and Id go for bigger injectors as the standard one will be working very close to 100% output which is a little risky.

If you want to go mad then there Roamers throttle bodies for 212hp for about £5K I think. Also K-tec turbo for err possible £6k which about 260hp and the potential for 300hp with more work.

You could get 220hp N/A without individual throttle bodies though for less than Roamer spend but the noise of Roamers is incredible so if you can afford it its worth it IMO much better than and dump valve.

With 3k you should be able to get 210hp and for 2k 200hp should be possible.

Has anybody got any experience of chipping one of these, as 2K seems a lot of money to get 200 bhp.

im getting mine chipped soon mate but i believe these car respond wel to the chip so cant wait...i have a viper and magnex system and the car not only piks up better (managed an indicated 65 mph in second the other day) but sounds the bollards!!! keep you eye on the for sale section mate cos you can sometimes pick up a bargain

Roamers was no where near £5K!!!!!! nearer to £3.5K (but theres more on the way)

couple of choices either order direct from r-sport and get somebody to fit it i..e jay172 or go to hillpower and get them to do it...with membership as mentioned above its a god price!!!

i think mate it is around 250 fully fitted which is good i think...you should find the car will pickup like a b**ch and raise the limiter to 8,000 rpm!!!

Ok I didnt know hoe much Roamers mods cost he has never as far as I know admitted it on here (or worked it out himself). A chip willnt get you 200hp for this you need other parts modified and that 2k is more a guesstimate from BenR saying the achaul work would cost £1400 and then fitment and removal ontop.

A chip may get you 7hp but will help you with some mid range power improvments. You could go to Superchips for there remap or get a completly new ECU from R-Sport.

You cannot get Roamers mods from anyone his was the first one ever done, companies will be able to do it but will go about it different ways.

If you wants Roamers work best contact him and ask him for the numbers of the companies he used he should be making a price for the package up though soon.

I dont want to believe Roamers mods were £3.5k. Makes me want a 172 knowing that now.

You can chip a 172 in two ways

1 - Get a replacment R-Sport ECU. Not sure who does it but there a recient thread on it

2 - Go to superchips etc who for £400 I think will remap your car its the original ECU so exterier wise you cannot tell its been tampered. Gary Brown has had this done to his car.

The problem with the R-Sort Ecu was that for a while everyone seemed to think and was told it wouldnt be able to control the climate control and ABS the 172 owners have. It now seems that it can but you need the R-Sport chip making up for your 172 no idea why though.

I think he meant to be relating to the R Sport remap (well replacment ECU realy but same thing).

Quite a few people forget about superchips and the like when going for a remap and think about a unichip ecu or an Rsport one only.
