More Mark 1 Woes - Part II & III

After the incident with the damaged bonnet, safe to say the clio is now getting closer and closer to that scrap heap.

Part II
Relating to the bonnet crushing, security cant find anyone doing it, they say they can see a 4x4 reversing then the camera pans away.
Damn, no claim from anyone.

Part III

Was driving home in the cold weather, then started to loose heat in the car, thought hmm thats strange as i topped up the water on saturday.
Seems to be the head is on the way out again. :dapprove:

Pressure tested the water and it is loosing water pressure.

Ufft, not again the heads away.

Yes i believe this would be my third unlucky thing to happen in, emm two weeks. Great.

Yes i do, i really would. Just the insurance is really expensive thats the only trouble.

Two cars, dads company car, which i can drive when he isnt using it, and my Clio.
I will not get a fronted policy plus my dad wont let me, insurance business for 26 years.

I havent spent that much on the car, for example i only have paid for brand new parts for the car, expection of the rear rsi axel still waiting to be put on, i do a lot of work for garages and recovery companies so that helps lower the cost on a few things such as engines and bits.

Insurance on my clio right now is £580 TPFT, 2 year NCB and Full license, with no points.

HOW MUCH!! FFS! Even when i was in Glasgow B rated postcode my 172 was only 900! at 20yrs old.

And that wasn't "pharell williams - FRONTIN!"

When I had my 2.0 Megane Coupe my insure was £620 TPFT!! That was with 1 year NCB and a accident which was my fault!!!! With Direct Line

When I had the 1.6 I was £340 a year TPFT, had 2 years NCB at that point! That was with Quinn Direct

my insurance on my mk1 is similar to yours mate. Got to renew mine pretty soon and have just about for 1 years NCB and being 19, cheapest i got was just over £700 on my name only.

But its easy to say save up for a 1*2 but its a little harder to do. Driving around in a car for years which you dont like the look off is silly IMO.

If you need to build up more NCB's, then just restore the mk1 back up again. Cant sell it so might aswell

Add mum, sister, GF, or a phantom (Aunt) to the policy. Whats your profession?

Up the excess, go 10months, Lower milage useage!

There is still something wrong, no way the price can be that high! When I got my first car at 18 I was about £65 a month, that was about 4 months after I passed my test!

Well the insurance thing, that is with myself and a dad on the policy. Cant add anymore, told you all before, dad wont let me drive around with an illegal policy.

Excess was the top i could do with confused etc. Mileage was 10,000 a year, cant go lower than that as its what i do or more.


Anyway, UPDATE - Got an engine and a temp car, engine should be picking up tonight, car picking up today.

BUMP - Just had the car in bits, got a new engine for it today, and took that head away to get skimmed.

Head should be put on tomorrow im hoping and should be rolling with it.

Woo Update.

Got the block back. Started assembling it last night after issues. Torqued up head and timed up properly. Seems ok now. Took ages tightening the headbolts but should be fine now.
Dropped engine back onto mounts and the exhaust manifold needs joined at downpipe. Rocker cover going on after college today.

Should be rocking for saturday.
