More Noise Please Sir!

Hey, just wondering if there are any ways of making my 182FF more noisy, i have a standard exhaust at the moment that has at least 7 months left on it. So i will get a yozza or ktec at some point, i was wondering of there any cheap ways to get a little bit more grunt!. The methods must not harm my beloved.

I put a decat on my 182 with a standard exhaust and it didn't make a great noise - made it raspier, but not in a good way. Be warned lol!

Remove the exhaust, and pour some bolts into the throttle body. That should make it a bit louder.

+1 about the open cone induction kit. but be warned mine is costing me 5bhp and 8lb/ft so as soon as i can source a ph1 airbox its going!

I've got a yozza with de-cat and piper cross filter and since fitting the de-cat I've definetley noticed a nice difference.

For example, in 4th car used to be sitting on the 5k sweet spot at 80mph, now it's just over 85mph before I hit the VVT, shows the car is breathing better.

It is stupid loud though and I mean stupid, here's a video my mate filmed of me pulling onto the motorway this weekend...

VVT doesn't do anything past about 1,500rpm. It's only there for economy / emissions purposes.

Sorry I must be getting confused, mechanics aint my strong point, I'm talking about the 5k kick, I thought that's what the VVT referred to when the valves fully open, similiar to v-tec?

Nope. The 5K kick is just down to the design of the engine. It's when it reaches its "volumetric efficiency". There's a thread on it somewhere.
The VVT on these Clio's is just there to satisfy some bullshit EU regulation on noise or pollution AFAIK.

lol it does sound sweet though i fancy getting a bit more noise from my 197 but unfortunetly my back seat co pilot is in 2 and he thinks its too noisy as it is lol

lol see you've missed a trick there, you strip out and make it unbearable before you get the mrs preggers, then come pregnancy time you can't get rid, bit like a dog, you can't just send it out onto the streets if the dog was there before the baby!

hahahaha lol wish i had thought of that lol. my missed was actually really good to me i had a 1.6vvt megane 5 door 57plate up untill 2 weeks ago when she let me get a 3 door 197 cup shes defo a keeper lol. or its maybe just cause i moaned the face of her and promised to alway put the wee man in the car seat so she didnt have to struggle my back breaking lol but its well worth it

I personally think 3 doors are easier for kids, you get all the space behind the front seat to strap them up in, rather than reaching across from the side, but aye definetley a keeper

More noise - decat, simplez. Doesn't make it raspier, just gives it a bassy note on tickover and generally louder through the range.

Combined with an ITG panel filter it sounds really good from inside especially at high revs, you can still hear the induction noise aswell as the noise from the exhaust.
