more power up the hills

on my commute to work i go over the clee hills in my lil 1.2

and i was just wondering is there anyway i can get abit more power / abit more speed to get me up the hills abit quicker as its annoying doing 40 max

ps weight saving is not a issue as i have to carry a massive bloody weighty toolbox in the boot
