MOT question - rules

does a car HAVE TO have side repeaters to pass an mot? as mine from the factory never had any as standard. its a 1990 jap import

You have to be able to see the indicators flashing from standing side on, so im guessing yes! But if it didnt come with any as standard, I dont see what they can do!

anyone know the propper rules tho?

If it matters a lot, for the MOT go to maplin. Buy a few LED's in orange and some low guage cable. Splice it off ur front indicators and run the wire through the engine bay on top of your mirrors. MOT passed :)
