motherboard

  Cupra
I am also hunting for one at the minute....

My list so far is:

Asus P5N32-E SLI
Asus P5N32-E SLI Plus
Asus P5B-VM
GigaByte GA-965P-DS3

Can't decide between them...

must admit the p5n32-e sli was looking good to me as is the BFG Nvidia 680I SLI and the evga one infact all the 680 boards seem good

  Turbo'd MX-5 MK4
I've got the EVGA 680I its a good board, but isn't without its problems, I'd advise you stay clear personally, checkout the EVGA motherboard forum and you'll see what I mean.

They are still selling old versions of the board via retailers even though there are known unfixable issues (I have one of these boards), the boards thankfully come with lifetime warranty which is great, however support in the UK at the moment is pretty dire and getting a replacement board is VERY difficult, people have sent their boards away and are still waiting for a replacement after months of being without their PC. Support in the USA is much better and people are getting replacement boards without any trouble. Until the support in the UK is better I am obviously reluctant to send mine off.

The current issue I have is that neither of the PS2 connections on the board work, so keyb and mouse HAVE to be used via USB, on a board that cost £170 odd that's a f**king joke. There was also an issue with the machine temporary locking up and beeping during gameplay? very strange, but thankfully that has been resolved by a BIOS update. Other issues I am aware of are problems with Quad-Core support.

hmm not good regarding the support i keep hearing asus's support is really bad too

tbh i dunno what board to get and i dont think i need to spent 170 on a board if im almost certainly never going to run sli

id like the board to be a good overclocker tho stable lots of features and quite cheap im a yorkshireman after all :rasp:

lol, I bought mine for SLI and Quad-Core support, 2 easy ways of having a much better machine later on when Quad-Core doesn't cost the earth.

as i said in my last post this is my first new pc in 7 years !!
can you recomend another board i usually go for the best in everything but tbh i just cant justify it at the mo
