Motorcycle insurance?

I'm looking at getting a Honda Hornet 600 (599cc), it will be my first bike. Who is the best bike insurance company to go to? Bennetts just quoted me nearly 3k, surley there has got to be someone cheeper! Any Ideas?

Cheers

Your best bet is to get a bike magazine and call every insurance listed. Ive got a Yammy R6 1st quote i had was 3k, roughly after 20calls to different insurance companys got it down to £400

HI Cocamainy

I have a 2004 Hornet 600 and I am with MC Edwards I am 22 and pay 280 tpf&T my best advice would be to shop around as always. Also try CIA and The PolicyShop as well as Bike team. Get the Yellow Pages and have a look through. On A side note very good choice of bike I wouldnt swap mine for the world. There is a Honda hornet forum which is good for asking all those awkward questions that you are too embarrassed to ask the dealer!

Hope this helps
Rich :)

Thanks for the advice :)

Yeah, i love the Hornet 6 (yellow....mmmmmm...yellow), I'm more of a Naked bike lover than all the fairing.

PS - have you got a link for the forum?

I havent bought the bike yet. The bike I'm looking at is a '99 model, only noticable mod is twin headlamps.

Cheers for the link:)

Try ringing as well as getting quotes online. I keep telling the old story about my ZX-6R insurance which Bennetts quoted £1500 online but when I rang them and got a quote they came back with £700.

Bennetts were cheapest for me but others swear by ebike.

Also I would expect the insurance to be cheaper on a Bandit.

  clio 172 (2002), bandit.
try honda if they do it. i ride a bandit 600 and suzuki insurance were so much cheaper than anyone.
