Mounting an Amp

right guys, i need to put my amp in the boot

how do you mount it to the rear seats, can you just make holes and secure it there, as id rather have it there than on the floor of the boot

i was gonna have it under the shelf as its only a small amp but the ICE place doing my shelf said not to do it as it will probably over heat

If your gonna mount it to te back of the seats make sure you put plastic spacers between the case of the seat back and use nylon screws, you dont wont hte case of the amp grounded, this causes interence as most amps have the case connected to ground internally for safty reasons, grounding the cases will cause a ground loop to be formed and this is detremental to SQ.

b&q dont seem to sell nylon screws and i been told its fine to use normal self tappers

You can use normal self tapers, just put plastic washers between the amp and the seat back and the amp and screw head, ie making sure the amp is insulated from the screws.

the screws will always be touching the amp tho at some point, it would be quite hard to get them to not touch at all
