Moving photos to my I Pad

Apologies if this has been aked before, if so feel free to delete or link to me to a relevant thread. I have loads of photos on my laptop that i'd like to put on my I Pad, am i right in saying i have to use I Cloud? (briefly browsed the net earlier)

If not how do i import photos from my laptop to my I Pad?

Plug iPad in to iTunes.

Select iPad

Select photos tab

Select which folders you want from drop down menu
