Moving Providers....Internet

Well my dad rather pissed at Virgin and told them to stuff it where the sun dont shine so looks like well be moving to Sky or Bt in the new year thing is with being signed up to everything with @blueyonder.co.uk emails will i have to go to every site and change my email or is there some way i can transfer my email account to sky or bt ???

You'll have to go to every site annd update your e-mail address.. (if you're going to lose the @blueyonder.co.uk address).

This is why it's always best to get an ISP-indepedent e-mail address, such as hosting you own domain, gmail, hotmail etc.. as when the ISP goes crap, you can change without too much distruption on that side of things.

no... cant transfer your email address.. why not just buy your own .co.uk domain name and use that for email? I have my own personal one which is hello@rossm******.co.uk (obviously left some parts out there) It costs £6.09 for the domain name with 123-reg and then find some cheap hosting.. or with 1and1 its about £15 a year for both domain name and email.. you then just configure your microsoft outlook program or other mail program to receive email using POP3!

Free email addressed from sky, bt, hotmail etc look NAFF!

thats one thing putting me off moving, ive always used my blueyonder address, plus to go elsewhere we would have to go back to BT for our phone line aswell

BT Line, Sky, Decent DSL ISP owns all.

Im not tat bothered about havin to go changing all my emails its my dad that is....Shall have to see in the new year what he ends up doing
