Mozilla Thunderbird

Car  Tesla MP3 2021
ive installed this tonight just to see what it is like and first impressions things are looking good.

nice interface and runs as smooth as firefox really.

any one used this for a long while:)

no, but just realised i was using an old version of firefox, updated now, so fingers crossed, no more crashing.

good to hear. just to check aswell there is no way of adding to the toolbar like outlook so when minimized he goes to the notification area.

Used Thunderbird for Windows for a year or so now.. wouldn't use anything else :)

yep. used for a year or more too, over 12k emails in tons of different folders... still very fast at searching and stability is spot on :approve:

EDIT: biff - yeah, i think thers a plugin to allow you to minimize to tray...

cheers foxy...

do you know for certain or.... if so can you point me in the right direction;)

does any one know how to remove that little window that appears when sending an email. cheers

Its MAPI interface is w**k though, it doesn't cache attachments at the point of you saying "send" which it should do. That one caught me out.

when you send an email a little box pops up and it has got a status bar saying connecting to smpt server. i want to get rid of that

OMG thats really annoying me now! I've just sent like 5 'test' emails trying to solve this. I've always had the little box come up, but never thought any different...

Mmmmmm.......

lol... it is abit anoying aint it as you should just be able to turn it off.

its like outlooks diolog box which u can turn off

I haven't used Outlook for years, so wouldn't have made the comparison. I'm going to keep trying now you've got me started! Let me know if you solve it :)

lol... ive only just switched and upto now everything is great apart from this anoying box lol

i will let you know if i solve it.

I don't think Thunderbird is 'enterprise-y' enough. Fine for home use, sometimes can crash on heavy loads @ work. Has gotten better in 1.5.0.6 though 1.5.0.5 was utter gash. Go over a few gb in thunderbird and it loses the plot.
