mpg in my 1.2 16v

just been out all night with my cousin, he's just passed his test so i've been taking him to some nice roads for a bit of a blast, done about 50 miles otnight with him following and i got 48mpg!

well impressed as i was giving it a bit but not speeding too much, plenty off of some roundabouts in 2nd and 3rd!

its wierd cos i normally only get 35mpg, and thats just to work and back 8 miles each way, and i know short journeys use more but it takes me about 25mins, so the car is fully warm, and because of traffic i never get a hcace to floor it!

i refilled on the a52 and pulled out nailing it, got the lowest reading ever of 8mpg for a few seconds!!!

ive not reset my mpg in about 3k miles, its averaging as 36, 1.2 16v aswell

25mpg or so for me on adverage. Then i do drive quite hard.

They'll do 11mpg if you hammer them.

I average 45 in mine usually and thats a 1.6. Lowest it's been is 35 and thats driving HARD.....

I get betweem 27 and 30mpg average in my 1.4 8v. I floor it a lot, uselessly sometimes but because I don't drive much atm I like to make the most of it, but when I take it easy I don't seem to see any reward. Don't think it helps when I'm rusing on the motorway with the revs at 4-4.5k.

I haven't got a trip computer, but I filled it up with normal Shell, 3 weeks ago and the fuel light has just come on at 400 miles. That included a blast to coventry and back to collect my girlfriend who I hadn't seen for 3 weeks. Was doing over 5k in 5th most of the way.

Everyone has different views of hard but being as I drive a diesel and get 37mpg at worst on the road and under 30 on track I'd think you could try harder.

Following an Audi A4 on the A1 with either my foot hard on the brake or gas at all times I have seen 13.6 mpg.

That is my record.

At a constant 120 I return 19mpg.

i get between 34.8 - 35.1 mpg in my 172,doesnt really drop much below that to be honest


maybe im getting to old and i drive to slow lol
