MPG problem!

I drive my 172 under 2000 revs and never put my footdown (hard) and im getting sh*te mpg, can someone help please ? ? ? out of 40 pound petrol (full tank) i get ABOUT 220 miles is this normal

i seem to get best mpg at around 40-43mph in 5th

had 55mpg from bristol to bridgwater once.... i wish i could make it do that again

yeh i forgot to add people it is jus city driving ,i did mention this on another thread and people where saying they get 34/35.

Thats aout 30mpg right?? Hmm its not great is it, especially if your pootling about..

I boot mine now and again, and never get less than 35 mpg.

Edit : For purely city driving suppose that not too bad

hahaha i got 41mpg once on the motorway doing 70 m.p.h, aslong as this is normal im happy!

i was kind of unsure about this because my engine had a bit of a tapidy noise (tapids) but i've been told this is normal by the people at renault who i dont trust because there cnuts in Leicester

They are a bit "ticky" especially when cold. Wouldn't worry mate yours sounds normal.
