mpg question!

Clio campus 2007 1.2 8 valve.
Anyone know the average mpg for this car? I have looked round and noticed it should be round 44mpg according to some sources. However noticed mine is only doing 30mpg, 33mpg when driving like a grandad! Got the fater in law to test it, maybe its my driving, however he said its the same.
Seems mighty crap mpg for a 1.2 when my previous car a punto 1.2 was doing 47mpg.
What would cause this? So got a idea of what to ask at garage if it is engine issues.

When was it last serviced??

If i take it steady on a long motorway journey, i can get 40+ mpg in my 172!!

The official combined MPG is 47.9....

Very rarely get near that though in most new cars.

The MK3 1.2 is even worse!

i get about 36mpg now

Or it could be a brand new car thats still not 'run in'?

It won't give really good performance until about 10,000 miles imo.

mileage on her is just 10,000 today. So due service in 3k miles according to garage got it from. Hopefully service may resolve this? Costing me a fortune :dead:
