Mrk1 172 alarm

  golf

Hey!

Just a quick question can you make the alarm on a mrk1 172 go beep when you lock and unlock the doors? As sometimes in my 02 plate dci I would think i never locked it and pressed it again and i actually unlocked it. so left it open all night. I know it never had an alarm but can a beep be made on the mrk1 172 alarm?

dont think you can no. i asked this to the dealer re the dynamique option cat 1 alarm he said to comply with cat 1 they cant beep, obv bollox but there you go.

what I do if Im parking in a dodgy area or where loads of chavs are watching you is, I lock it, then leave it for 10 seconds then quickly unlock it and lock it. When you unlock after 10 seconds (or something) and before 30 seconds of locking it, it goes "beep" once. I do it to let the undesirables know that my car is alarmed.
