MS Office 2007 - Not Responding

I've just installed & activated MS Office 2007 (Student Version) - legit x3 license.

I went to open a Word file and it keeps freezing and coming up with the infamous

"Program Not Responding"

I've tried saving a file, closing it and opening it again - no joy there either :S

Anyone know a fix for it?

You could check for Updates ?

You could 'stall linux and openoffice for free ?
