Create your headings using a header style then create the contents table above all content. Go to:

Insert > References > Index and tables > Tables and contents

that just auto creates a TOC though, does it not? i thought he meant he wanted to be able to click on a title on the contents page, and it would take you to that page. maybe im reading it wrong though?

Well, you just select the option to have a hyperlink instead of page numbers within the wizard.

Otherwise just use bookmarks.

i just did a small tryout myself.

i did what you said, and but i press 'Ctrl' and click on the heading i want to go to, it takes me to that page. is that what you meant?

^Ta, Did it a slightly diff way, Mainly coz there are 112 sub headings And the contents list wanted in bring in all of them. Only needed the 18 Main headings.
