Mulitiplex Stereo

Hey there peeps. My GF bought a 2002 Clio 172 Sport a few months back and is wanting to put her pioneer system in. Ive heard that the car could be multiplexed and I would need some adapter wiring to sort it out. Is this true? Has anyone had trouble?
