My A1 Thread

Essentally i fancied a new car, warranty, reliability etc etc and the Audi A1 has been a massive grower on me over the last few months.

I borrowed this little monster from work for the weekend and after 200 miles i loved it.

its a 1.6tdi s-line

We have some cracking deals for employees at work so i placed a factory order on a 2.0TDi Black Edition, back in feb i think it was. Its now finally in the UK and today i chose my reg plate.

Should be here either this week or next... i really want it by friday so i get to go away in it!!

bit of a random thread but I'm like a little kid about getting it haha

well I've already ordered some 20mm spacers for the back. only other thing is maybe lower it about a foot. but i can't do too much without wading into the warranty void area

thats a nice example there, what kind of deals on these atm? im intrested in the quattro one and audi are literrally opening a new showroom around the corner from my house so just waiting to test drive one.

the quattro one is £40k left hand drive and only 40 being made... all of which are sold already.. you won't get to test drive one I'm afraid gutted because it means i won't either.

think you can get a base model for about 13k which for the car you get is really good imo, it may be a small car but its still an audi and feels like one.
top of the range black edition about 21k

no went for solid brilliant black - tbh i quite like the contrast roof line but its a tad expensive at £350

Agreed it's definitely expensive, like all of the other Audi options! I reckon it'd look better in black anyway.

They're a great normal car, but I was bored with it on the test drive.

They look ace though IMO. Especially in your spec.

Nice looking car. My mate brought a bright red 1.6tdi one round a week before official release. Turned lots of heads for a small car.

Infact, think it looked just like that but red.

I'm not a fan of the silver roofline reminds me of the Citroen C3 Pluriel, so not having it is no bad thing in my book!

Mate of mine just traded in his 07 s3 for a new 1.6tdi and has already lowered it on H&R's and fitted 18" CH-R's

Its a proper classy looking little thing, all the toys too!

Xenons are the only thing it doesn't have IIRC...

it was a pre reg Audi Manchester had in stock, it's got the nav plus, upgraded sound system, half leather, climate, yada yada yada...

Had 25 miles on the clock and he got it for £17k!

Xenon plus headlights are £750!! eeek but i had to have them... they make the car for me. plus i love the fact that when its dark they turn on when you unlock the car. pimpin

Yup, the pauper headlights and rear lights and spoiling that one.

They're as essential as Recaros on the 200. You can't order an A1 without them IMO.

Seen as its a decent discounted car(i hope) then i would go for it.I think they look really nice,in a small car sort of way.Build quality will be good and it will probably hold its value well being cheap tax and economical to run.

If it was me(joe public)i would be looking at a 2yr old one as the prices new are quite high for what they are.

New is good, but it can also be a pain in the arse IMHO. Apart from my first and current car all of them have been brand new, whenever I got a stone chip etc it really used to p*ss me off. These days I just think meh, sh*t happens.

well good news... it will be here at the dealership on thursday.. if its thursday morning i can collect friday morning... if its thursday night i wont be able to take it away with me so it will be the monday
