Decided at work today that I would get around to cleaning all the fonrt suspension down after it no doubt being covered in road salt and crap.
Exhaust has been rattling a bit too so decided to check that out, and then make some homemade new mounts due to perished old ones.
Started off with the coilovers, dirty!
Stripped them down, cleaned everything up and then reassembled
Look a lot nicer now. Also, after using copper slip previously to stop the threads getting screwed and everything sticking to it, I opted for a new idea. nipped to my local bike shop and got some spray on 'dry lube' which doesnt let anything stick to it (allegedly) and thought this would help protect them.
Once that was all done I set about new exhaust mounts, old ones shagged:
Inspired by someone else on here, I did the following:
(left side new mount, right side old mount)
All done, sorted.
Then checked on the rattle, it was the clamp between the cat and exhaust, so had a play around with this and got it a bit tighter so that has now stopped, result.
Getting a new exhaust asap so should be sorted 100% soon, but for now my bodging seems decent enough
Few after a quick drive to make sure it was all safe:
