My BMC filter ducting problem / fix

Had the BMC filter on the Vee since I got the car, and I've never been happy with the sound, and found that it used to knock going over bumps etc, it sounded nothing like the pipercross viper evo on my old mk1 Vee,

So as the car is SORN I did a bit of investigating and upon removing all the covers this is the state I found the filter ducting in :nono:

Ripped into 3 bits and basically all it's been doing is rattling about and sucking hot air in, hence also why the noise has been muted to say the least!

So I made a plan to have a proper set up fitted, and after a bit of digging about online I discovered siliconhoses.com and have them a ring, less than 24 hours later the following arrived

Looked amazing but obviously was far too long so out came the saw and I got cutting and ended up with this,

So now it's completely sealed from side intake to engine and is rock solid, no rattles and sounds biblical! I can see every journey being with the passenger window down, LHD Vee owners are lucky as they get the noise at their drivers side window, it really snarls now, and you get nice little hissing noises and whistles on partial throttle

A cheaper alternative would have been the bucket mod I suppose :rasp:

much tidier, mate had one of these on his type r and it sounded great bet it sounds epic on the vee
