My CAT is leaking :-/

  Mazda Mx5 + Clio 172
Oh dear - just get my rear exhaust sorted and working the way i want it and now it seems the CAT is leaking :-@
Noticed a SEVERE drop in economy last week or so so finnaly had a look under her today and sure enough the seam that runs around my CAT is leaking :-(
Fixable? If not how much is that gonna rape me for a whole new CAT? Not cheap im imagining?!??

The word BUGGER comes to minds - espec in light of the vandal damage i have incurred this week too - oh the joys of life!

  None
Cheaper to ask a garage ot specialist to weld the seam back up i would think mate, those things are expensive, if you get one then go for a sports cat, same thing but much cheaper than a standard cat.

  182 Trophy
If the leak is coming from just a small hole or crack in the cat, just get it welded up. Might be worth replacing the sealing ring too, these can cause air leaks if worn.

  Golf GTD Mk7
A leak wouldn't affect your MPG mate. CAT wise, as said get a second hand one off here. Dealer will rape you and then bum you. Think the 182 one is around £700
