Revels please whatever you do don't colour code the side strips they look perfect on the PH1 as do the silver F1's. Standard is the future.

The ph1 has grown on me a lot since Evil Giraffe's one I seen.

Any last pics of the GTI?

Strange swap though, although a little more subtle than the GTI it's still a little hot hatch. Thought you might have moved on from them, maybe newer. Alas 200 ect.

i heard that moderators, admin and area reps got discount on brand new renaultsport automobiles

I like standard but then do want it lower. Will be hitting the track at some point this year.

I just wanted something that's still fun but cheap. A 200 on that lease deal was a potential but I wanted AG/Speedlines/Recaros so I'm either paying for great spec to technically rent it, then I'd have to fund something else afterwards. Not committed to anything now and paid outright with my own cash monies. Sorted.

(I feel like Chris. 1 picture and 5 pages)

106 GTi. I very nearly bought a Ph1 instead of it. But I didn't want to pay the extra for the Ph1 and then 2k+ on insurance. So went with the cheaper option.

You'll never be up to Chris' level! No pictures... 6 pages sometimes.

When I said standard, coillies and other bits are fine, Turinis, ph2 bumpers ect... are ruining a cracking example of a PH1, glad you're thinking along the standard lines.

Couldn't agree more regarding the 200 I remember you mentioning a while back how tempting it was, especially when you see pictures of AG, speedlines ect...
I would also be the same spec wise so it would turn from a cheap lease into an expensive rent.

I agree with almost everything in here, barr your opinion on the cup spoiler, it's an awesome mod to the rear of the car. Gives it a lot more character.

Mods now need to be:

Cup spoiler
Ph2 BOOT (not bumper) it's much nicer and can have new/no RS badge.
Coilovers

Done.

By RS badge, you mean the badge around the boot button? Big change for small gain TBH.

Plus the RenaultSport badge is coming off anyway.

I think (although could well be wrong) that removing the rs badges on a ph1 leaves holes. Mine had a ph2 boot when I bought it. Nicer, but wouldn't have bothered fitting one if it didn't.

I think the Ph1 clusters suit the silver ones very well. All other colours need the Ph2 clusters. Something to do with the contrast.
Of all the things I did to mine, I loved the car the most when I put it back to standard. Unfortunately by then it was too late and I had already signed it over.

Standard bumper, standard rear lights, standard suspension (renewed), HIDs, custom exhaust (hidden), clear repeaters.

The Ph1 is bloody brilliant with healthy standard suspension.

My wheels are at the refurbishers at present. It's also having the dents removed, well, some of them.

Want to make preemptive measures to the server for tomorrow?

I sh*t six pages. F*cking amateur.

Credit where credit's due though; you only posted one image. That's impressive.

FYI, a jaunty angle adds ~2 pages.

This is only No1.

Will need a thread later when my Jelly Belly air freshener goes in. Then another for my CS sticker being fitted. The obligatory Sunday clean.

The list is endless TBH.

Some comments/questions etc...

1: Very nice mint tidy fresh looking Ph1.

2: What have you been driving since (checks avatar) Aug 2008 ? I always assumed you probably had a Clio but never had any information to suggest any different, or frankly that you have been riding a pit pony around the south island all these years.

3: If any one persuedes you to put a Ph2 rear on it (bar the lights as they are actually much nicer than the ph1's) .. (ok and a cup spoiler too) please stab them and yourself. Please feel free to take Robbos out while you're at it for his last 6 months of driving a ph1.5 and also suggesting it somewhere in this thread too.

4: Modified insurance (unless there's special rules for your island) is normally cheaper than run of the mill insurance if you're with a specialist.

5: Permaban Laingo please.

KThanksBai.

1) Ta.

2) No idea where you got Aug 08 from! Lol. I bought a 106 GTi in April 05. Nothing since.

3) I was tempted by it. But Si and Chris said it's not allowed and now I have it, I kinda agree.

4) Insurance is slightly more than the GTi. But I'm semi-old now so it's fine.

5) Lagerlout is okay. Just has a wrong opinion.

Always thought you were critical of the PH1, moaning about the dash? May be confusing you with someone else.

Have you got rid of the GTI then? The only reason I'd sell mine would be to have a newer car, but then I do love the PH1 :) still a good move I think!

Did you photoshop the car into that pic?

Yup. All these posts and it's just a magical computer aided creation.

It is newer! Lol. Only just.

I don't think the dash is great, much prefer the Ph2 but prefer the outside of the Ph1. It's a cheap runabout really, just happen to have got a nice one.
