Tried to race my mates Cupra (Cupra link) last night but traffic got in the way.

i want the new 222 bhp version out in autumn,should give it same 0-100 performance of my mk1 172,and give better shove in 5th.mk1 poor 5th gear!

My dad has the 210 hp version and trust me on the road it will beat a mark 1 172 with little hassle. You may look at 0-60 times etc and think your car is quicker but on the road pull up next to it @ 20 and race to 110 and you will get toasted. If your into 0-60s keep the 172.

Expect that the Leon would pass the Cup in the same way as a MK1 172 Neil? Has the Chip made much dif to your motor? Cost?

My Cup would beat a standard mark 1 172 will little bother straight line and corners, 0-60 30-70 and 0-100. MAC I live in Dunfermline so if you want to meet up let me know.

Yes mate. would like to meet up some time, when I get my Cup back that is! It has been away for about a week now getting some paint work fixed and the issue with the bent jacking point is still at large. Dont know when it will be back. Will PM you in the next week tho. -unless you fancy your chances against a 1.2 8v Dynamique? lol lol.

I recon my Cup is one of the quick ones and would love to compare it to a chipped one. I have timed it using the speedo and stop watch on the flat and got figures of 5.9 - 6.5 (0-60mph) and 15.8- 16.7 ish to a ton. Please dont slate me anybody - these are just speedo readings.

Ive AP22 mine at 6.4 to 60 30-70 in 5.7 and 0-90 in 12.5 (using adis time as a guage I should hit 100 in the low 15s if you believe the ap22) Also ran a 14.8 @ Crail when I had 1 k miles and was standard, faster than any cup ive seen at Crail, infact the fastest 172 full stop We can always meet up even in your 1.2 Aloa is like 15 mins from my house.

Maybe it is but they are close when racing on the road. 30-100.
