My Cup passed its first MOT

Took my 172 Cup for it's first MOT today. I'd printed off the advisory notice pdf about the load sensing valve actuating arm being missing (thanks to loony for posting a link in another thread).

However the MOT tester already knew all about it - maybe things are changing!

Passed fine - a couple of advisories. The left hand rear tyre is getting a bit low on tread but I knew about that.

Also the inner face of a couple of the disks are getting it a little bit pitted. I don't do a lot of mileage and what I do is mostly around town, so the tester advised me to give her a bit of a thrashing to help wear the disks a bit!

Wait till I tell the wife - "sorry dear I've got to give the car a good thrashing over Woodhead Pass...yes I know it's a problem but the MOT tester says I've got to..."

mine sailed through its MOT last Sat, with similar advisory types things too

mine failed on an inoperative handbrake n/s! replacement caliper on warrenty tho.

you should of got him to write you a note so you can prove to your wife he said that

She didn't believe me so I showed her the advisories on the MOT.

If it's dry tomorrow (I've finished work for Xmas) I guess I'll just have to go out, maybe over Woodhead and then back over Saddleworth Moors - it's a hard life but somebodies got to do it.

Mine flew through its MOT yesterday aswell !!!! Rock on the Cup!

Only advisory that i got was front and back brake discs are slightly corroded (sp).

I feel like i will be keeping it for a at least another year now!

looks like brake disk corrosion is another "feature" of the Cup then.

I couldn't rag it over Woodhead today as "advised" - I tried but the queue of traffic heading out that way was huge, I'm just trying to brake a bit harder than normal (after making sure there's nobody close behind me)

The tester made no comment about brake efficiency though
