My Dynamique [Image Heavy]

  1.2 Dynam & 182FFCup
So, figured I should stick up a progress thread. My first car, 1.2, MK2PH2 Dynamique.
I got it over a year ago now, and it wasn't in the best condition.

(Dont kill me for the RipSpeed pedals. They were honestly in the car when I got it)

So, let me just get this bit out of the way first.
[ChavMode]
Blacked out the back three.

KTEC Grille.

Then I decided to get myself Angel Eyes.

IMG_0082.jpg

Lucky enough, one of the LED's were faulty and I got a refund, So I was straight back to OEM's. In hindsight, I'm glad I took 'em back.

Glad that's over with.
ANYWAY.

Then, I found Cliosport, signed up and got myself a membership.
IMG_0089.jpg

Which made me see sense.

Soon after, I wanted to colour code my bump strips. Budget style.
I also took the untraditional approach.

Yes that's right, I left them on the car, they came out pretty good to be fair.
Although I might just pay to have them professionally done, along with a few other bits.

Then the RS Grille came along :D
GoGoGadget.jpg

Of which I'm really glad I got.

Then I decided to go all stealthy on the badge, and had a go at spraying it.

Whilst doing that I hit a milestone.

So there, I haven't done much, or anything particularly technical or performance based, but there it is.

The plans for the car is colour coding the spoiler and both bumpers.
Maybe even converting into a 172 Replica, add some CF features to the dash.
I would love to get some 182 alloys on it, and of course like everyone seem's to say "Slam it, drop it on its arse" etc etc.

All opinions welcome, I'm pretty sure that I'm going to get a tonne of s**t for my early mistakes anyway. :p

Sam.

Glad you got rid of the s**t.
Looking good mate. Decent alloys on it and flat wipers, and you'll be well away.
I used that approach at spraying my rear diamond the first time. Then i got bored of that colour and took it off and sprayed it properly.

Then I decided to go all stealthy on the badge, and had a go at spraying it.

Genuinely thought you sprayed it blue here though... hah.

You pulled it out of a downward spiral,

Never liked the semi rear light tints, just looks sun faded, remove it imo, think white spirit works

Overall not bad mate

It was getting better too.
Hahah Im sorry, I just couldn't resist, I want an all black look, any suggestions as opposed to the smoked lights?

Thanks, I probably will in time, just had to see what it looked like for myself, Im not overly fond of them anyway.

Very Nicee, was it easy to get the bits off the dash to spray ? :)

Thanks!
Took the glove box down, stuck a key up behind it and pryed it out. Pretty much the same for the otheside, except you know, without the glovebox bit.

Seems easy enough then, total newbie here and the haynes manual looked a wee bit complicated :L

I don't think you'll like this either hahah.
Wanted a different colour scheme.
Blue doesn't seem to be hugely popular on the site, and I liked the colour so, I did this.
As you can imagine, I like it, other's say it looks a bit tacky. Each to their own I guess.

I've done the badge the same colour too and plan on the wing mirrors too.

  Octavia VRS LE
dont like the door speakers.... do not do the mirrors blue!!! interior strips is enough!!

  1.2 Dynam & 182FFCup
Yeah I might have the door speaker bits black, Looking a little too much.

Why not the wing mirrors?

Tiny tiny update.

I purchased myself some speedlines off of a fellow cliosport member.

Put them on the day after

Im now parking 5ft or so away from the curb.

I'll get a proper picture of the entire car soon, but IMO it looks good, theyre 17's so I was worried about them scrubbing or looking like I'm on stilts, but I can't say it does. It changes the whole look of the car. Now i've got to go fetch some Caliper paint, and possibly lower it a little. Some of you will be glad to know that Im going back to default on the front speaker grille's. The main plan for this now is to turn it into a 172 Replica. :D

Literally just pryed it out with a small flathead screwdriver mate :)

look mint

Thanks man, means a lot.

I'm guessing you didn't sand your side strips then? paint will fall off if you don't.

On the contrary, they were sanded down with 800 grit, two coats of primer, then further sanded with 1200, sprayed with 686 black from Halfrauds, I forget how many coats. Then finally two of three coats of lacquer.
I refer you to this image. They've lasted me about 9 months or so thus far.

What size gromett did you get for the de-wiper on the back?

I didn't actually use a gromett haha, I fashioned my own one out of a particularly strange plastic screw from Halfrauds, cut the unecessary bits off and glued it on.
Speaking of which, I soon plan to spray that little bit of plastic on the back the same 676 black, just so it doesnt stick out as much.

Average size update today.

Here is the Dynamique as of late.

Rideheight = Im not sure of myself, I think I'm going to lower it.
Turinis = Delicious
Calipers & Drums = Awful, need some colour other than 'rust'

The colour coded bump strips and bullets are courtesy of SprayShack. They do a banging job.

As for a future plans, the handles are really starting to bug me being a plastic greyish trim. Ill probably end up getting them coded too.

Time for a NonSport methinks.

Right:

Eibach Sportlines, have the spoiler colour coded if it's not and then stop on the outside.

Get inside and get rid of those blue speaker grilles, please just get some standard ones from a scrappy.

This could become a nice looking car.

Everyone has summed up what needs to be done, this has potential to be a really nice looking car :)

mint! i like the blue badges on the outside - although i really liked them black too!!!! you did well to do a good job with your side strips - although it would have been wayyyy way easier to just take them off and do it haha!!! you wouldnt have had to rip up the daily sport either!

Out with the old

In with the new
IMG_0592.jpg

Bought the lamps from Budgie, bit of fade but they were corrected and polished up nice in the end.
There was no hassle at all surprisingly, with next to no mechanical knowledge , the bumper came off with ease and I had the lights wired up and good to go within an hour or so.

Going to have to get the 172 bumpers now (and wings and skirts ofc). I'll edit this post and throw up a picture of it in daylight tonight.
