RAC should have a little tool to reset it, but first you want to find out why its on.

What else would you like to know you havn't been very detailed, I mean is it running rough or anything abnormal about the car?

If it came on for no reason perhaps a lambda is faulty.

i started it up and its just stayed on, gonna ring rac in a min to see if they can come out.

if its the lamba, will it need to go to renault and how much roughly will it cost, is it still safe to drive, it drives as normal

Yes the RAC will be able to reset it, anyone with an OBDII reader will be able to. Has had this a few times with his, ended up being a dead lambda sensor when we viewed all the sensord data.

rac wont do it, they said take it to renault, which in turn will charge me £77 for the dianogsic(sp) check

Yes its fine to drive on, its only a logged fault if its driving ok. Pm'd you back.
