My gamertag was hacked!

So went to log in to xbox live the other day and it kept failing. So tried logging in to my hotmail and no luck. Checked my gmail account and had an email confirming that I have asked for my gmail account to be removed as security from my hotmail account which I said no too!

So managed to recover my hotmail account and reset the password. But for security I changed the hotmail account that my gamertag is linked with.

Eventually recovered everything and got back online, but had lost all my friends! So went to play a bit of MW2 (luckily all game info/prestige levels etc were ok) and some cheeky bugger had bene playing online as me. Changed my title and emblems etc!

Anyone, this post is rather meaningless, but thought I would share anyway as the misses couldn't give two s***s - she didn't quite understand what the big fuss was about

You would be surprised you get some rather strange and bitter people on MW2! I got a message a while back asking if I wanted to sell my account. Not too sure what that was about either!

My Xbox account was hacked yesterday. b******s spent 1600 points and charged £89.25 to my bank account for a further 10500 points which they also spent. My gamertag is now locked and Microsoft are investigating.

flol, I'm on my 3rd lockdown. Cnuts even bought a gold membership to play online. Ended up getting all things blocked and they removed the card after the investigation.

3 times? Bloody hell. I'll definitely be removing my bank card details from Live, can't be bothered dealing with this again. MS said I should have a reply within 3 days, if not my bank will refund as soon as the money clears from my account. My GT is currently blocked.

The bank always phone me when it happens. And they can't remove a card from the account while you have an active subscription so they wouldn't remove my card the 1st or 2nd time.

It is due to a glitch in the EA servers that lets them use any gamer account then the points are transferred else where.

My Xbox is actually sitting under my bed in a box as I can't be arsed with it any more.

I'll be demanding they remove my card details from their servers, it's about time they added verification for purchases but then they couldn't sneak a further 12 months subscription from people who forget to cancel.

If I cancel auto renew then then they have no valid reason for holding my card details.

Having heard nothing from Microsoft i decided to email Alex Garden and that had the desired result, I received a reply within 30 minutes and a assurance that my issue would be resolved that day by one of his team. As promised everything was resolved and refund for £89.25 processed. I'm happy with that service. I've also removed my card details from my Live account and they have provided me with redeemable codes for the remaining 9 months of my subscription.

I learnt when psn was hacked. i didnt have my details stolen (thankfully) but as soon as i could i removed them from psn i did. ive never uploaded my details to xbox live so i only use microsoft points that i have bought from a shop etc.

i dont trust neither psn or live mith my details after all the horror stories ive been reading

I've never bought Xbox points or membership from MS, always cheaper to buy them elsewhere.
