My little clio story so far.

So I though id share my story about my car ownership so far after 6 months after I passed my test I got my first car
so I got this in 2010 september

had it for a while and had some problems one day it broke down and my bank account covered me with green flag which in turn wasnt so brillant

and then I boughts some angel eyes which I liked and some sport seats

keeping things peachy

then i went and bought this beauty

and then it snowed

all three of my clios with my gfs aswell

after a clean with the little one awaiting a new buyer

with my dads camper

the final one of them both before the little one went

another shot after cleaning

need to get a new rear licence plate light holder ad the one has broken clips and needs replacing but makes it look a bit boy racer still cool though

and a final shot tucked away with freshly spayed top grill

my next plans are to fix headlight crazing and to spray foglight surronds and bottom grill and to maybe tint fogs yellow. and i would like to get my own plate (c5 PBP) cliosport Paris Brook Peach
and I would really like to get some recaro sportsters fitted come september and student loan time but i need to convice my self over the pricetag and hassle of the subframes etc.
I would also like to learn more about working on a car as i love cars to bits but have no clue on what to do when it comes to working on them maintaining them and general servicing.

so the missus has just picked her car up after being annoyed at not having as quick car as me.
and she now has this fair to say we have a fairly awesome driveway

Yeah I still havn't got round to sorting my headlights yet but will hopefully get it done this week.

so AlexW offred to pop round and sort them out for me with his rotary thing :s

more pictures a few from css after leaving the convoy just before harlow to go get the ex-missus car we arrived in duxford just at the tail end of the convoy i was pretty annoyed to be honest as that was the bit i was looking forward to most but oh well only took a few pictures as the weather was dissapointing to say the least

I have now finished college so took a picture of the last time it will be in that car park.

need new handbrake cable as drivers side has snapped
exhuast mounts have sagged currently cable tied
rear licence plate light
need a steering wheel retrim as the thumbs have gone
gear knob needs refreshing
need to get lambda sensor as eml light is on tempted just to decat but can't as mot is due in august so will have to get sensors then after mot decat it
and need to get a new windscreen so a busy summer ahead

This will be getting a bit of an update most likely from alexW as he currently has it due to needing bits for the mot and him knowing what to do
slight update read paperwork wrong on my mot and got pulled for no mot and a 100 pound fine will hopefully be back on the road on wednesday and will hopefully be perfect for Trax on the waiting list for a snappy retrim so looking forward to that coming as other peoples look brillant. other then that milage is pilling on and im enjoying it. when its not broken or needing money thrown at it.

As the man above said, This is mine for the past/next few days, Heres Some of what I've been doing....

Firstly, dumped on my drive in a hurry Friday night, Got to work giving it a bath, it was minging.

All four wheels were removed, Rears first, one complete, one not touched yet. Both had bloody ages spent on them cleaning them before sealing.

Dark by this point as you can see... But a nice clean shiny wheel.

New day means more cleaning, firstly claying the whole car, I can see its been done before, but I was surprised how much came off the car... This was just the roof!

Then took it down the workshop and got it up on the ramp, had a quick inspection of the car underneath and didn't find too much wrong!

One reason for taking it down the workshop.... I had already replaced the front discs and pads just over a week ago

One thing I did find was a slightly bent front wheel, No vibration had been noticed though. (This is clearly before I cleaned this wheel!)

While it was on the ramp I also fitted some poly exhaust hangers, Sits much better now. Excuse my poor camera skills, theres not enough space on my drive atm and I had to lean across my DCi's bonnet to get this pic!

While doing the discs and pads I painted the calipers all round...

Interior also got my cleaning treatment, Didn't go mental on it as its going for MOT wednesday and track rod ends tomorrow night, so will give it a final hoover before Paris gets it back...

When I took the car down the workshop, I was really annoyed at how much black crap was coming off the wheels in my hands, So Cleaned it all off, causing a mess in my kitchen, and lots of very black water, the leather is worn, but my god its much better to use. Some use should see it smooth off again, feels much better with a couple of leather treatments...

Seats didn't get ignored, Just hoovered as there not that dirty, no need to get the carpet cleaner out. Treated the leather and thats a lot nicer, Will hopefully give it another coat before it returns to Paris.

Engine bay got a slight going over, Plastics cleaned up, some of the dirt and dust cleaned, Will tackle this properly in the future as theres a couple of jobs to be done! (Paris has the engine cover!)

Finally, where all the real work has been.... The whole outside of the car has been clayed, polished and waxed, it looks amazing. All plastics treated, glass polished, and quite a few bits were removed to clean shut gaps etc. Exhaust polished up, old number plate sticky pads removed etc.

Headlights are out for a bit more polishing.

Will add a few more pics in a couple of days, and hopefully update to say its passed its MOT. If it does, theres a nice decat to fit to make that miltek sound even better!

he says the headlights are out for polishing but that actually a lie as you can see he has stolen them along with my wheels evidence below!!

but no big props to this guy saved my clio on way too many occasions but did tell me he managed to get 13mpg in it the b*****d. looking forward to getting it back no more walking to burger town.

Little update tonight...

Ordered everything to give this a service after the MOT, plus a few extra bits it needs. Should run and drive mint when Paris gets it back!

Got the headlights back in, Have since slapped the big front plate on, and swapped the wheels as the new tyres haven't turned up yet

Fingers crossed for a MOT pass tomorrow!

recived a text today saying car had failed on ball joint was put on alex wheels as my tyres hadnt turnt up yet and still havnt even though the vavles have? bloody parcel force! two hours later alex had changed and had it retested for a pass sweet!! so car is being treated to some goodies tommorow serviced and decateed and hopefully new tyres when they turn up.

As the man above said, Failed on the N/S balljoint, Must have missed it when checking for play as it was that side that had the worn TRE too. Popped by the local factors and got a good quality pattern part, fitted that and took it back and got a Pass

Now the cars in bits again, Painting the inlet, fuel rail guard and engine mount, Plus giving it a service.
More tomorrow!

I failed to get the pics I planned, Got it back together quicky, couple of replaced gaskets, painted engine bits, really smartens up the engine bay, still needs more but its a start!

Saturday Paris popped over for its first clean since he had it back, Was damn dirty. Cleaned it, applied some new wax, then took it for a couple of pics, Paris has loads more than I do...

right time for my updateish
firstly leant alex my car on the tuesday to sort out decat, track rod end on driver side and transmission flush.
got it back wednesday night with just the decat as he was really busy, cant complain really the guys saved me ridiculous amounts of money and has never complained when i said its broken and he treats it like his own car with the care he gives it so less homo stuff now the car sounds soooo good with the decat more noisy and a pops a bit more now only problem is the road from alex and my gf is absolutly epic to drive so im stuggling to save petrol as the noise is so addicating right picture time! after a 20 mile drive at 40 miles an hour i got this!!!

on saturday popped over to alex went to get diesel he left me in the car so i defaced the alacatra by writing his cars name into it(look at his licence plate!)

How'd you get lights out? I thought you could only do it by removing bumper? I need mine out!

Bumper off headlights out bumper back on. Its a pretty simple job tbh get a haynes manual for step by step instructions. But yeah headlights out are a bumper off job.

Do need to take bumper off, but its not that hard, arch liners, four bumper bolts, then disconnect fog light loom. I placed the bumper back on after to save it getting damaged

small update nothing major car has been being used as van getting my new tv and canvas for my wall

had a phone call from the ex gf a week back saying she chrashed her car naturally went to see if she was ok was greeted by this ;'(

she lost control on a country road in the wet and went through a tree and hit a telegraph pole almost in someones back garden has now been wrote off so one less rb 200 ;/
(shes fine just hurt her arm)

excuse the poor photos I had been up for 20 hours at this point and I was bloody freezing!

went to Ace cafe with AlexW and a few friends(and almost got caught out by the camera on the sliproad to the north circular)

and this morning, this arrived will hopefully get it fitted tonite
