Picked up my 172 last week.

Absolutely love it :rasp:

Congrats, as above but check oil, brakes etc and make sure all belts have been changed. Looks like a boy racer has had this one.

I've washed it since as it had been sitting on a drive for 2/3 months.

Cambelt was changed 10,000 miles ago and decent tax & mot, had a look all round, everything seems okay & drives okay, so im pretty happy with the purchase.

Didn't even realise the back plate was too high & i spent about 2 hours trying to sort my BMW plates out haha.

who did your cambelt and do you have paperwork to prove it? I know we bang on about it but if it wasn't done by a specialist then assume its not been done

I had no paperwork with my 172 so first thing I did was cambelt before I even drove it hard

Yea thats a fair point, im dropping it round my mechanics tomorrow morning to get it all checked over.

Attack those headlights with some wet and dry then Scatch-X. Will transform the front of the car once the headlights are shiny and that grill is gone!

That grill is bad, nearly as bad as the wheels and exhaust, that exhaust sticks out further than a fattys tongue in kfc.

Looked at the grill in more detail & all 3 bits are with completely different sized fencing? haha.

Pay day tomorrow. Gunna get underway with some work on this car.
