My new xbox 360 how to....

How the hell do i connect my new 360 to my pc. Please explain this as if i know nothing lol. Seems that way you dont need to keep asking loads of questions.
So far i have pluged everything in. Connected the network cable to my pc and 360, and have gotten the media player 11 to reconise the 360 in the library option.
Now im stuck.

DONT tell me about that link, lol, i spent 2 and a half hours last night trying to download the software that link provides.
It downloads the 7.39mb file and then says you must have .NET framework. So downloaded this and then the file installed. But no srot of programe started and now i am just stuck.

So is it just like a programme, that you can drag and drop files into.

Also what is the 360 capable of

You have to setup the connection by launching the setup utility within the 360 dashboard. It'll then instruct you to be sure and have the correct software installed on the PC. Follow the instructions from there.

Im not thick as fu ck lol.

I have done the step by step things but the only conclusion i have come to is that the 60 is now playin beethovens symphony which im guessing is off my comp.

windows media player is reconising it but is there a way to copy music/films down to the box.
does it need to be chipped?

aye i suppose. well i will give another go tonight an if not just have to repost tonight.

so there should be that program in control panel and once i use that i shud be able to transfer file to ma box?

its not a file transfer program, it simply plays the media off your hdd on your computer, ou have media player 11, choose the share option and get it to recognise the 360 which is what you say you have done.

Then all you do is go into the media section on dashboard and enter the pictures section for instance and choose computer to view from and then it will see your computer and connect to it.

It will only play files in the correct folders in my documents, so pictures from my pictures and wmv files from my videos.

thats it really, nothing more, nothing less, do do anything else you need WMCE.

I was having problems until i worked out you had to use the specific folders in my documents as i never use those and they were empty

media connect isn't used now, if you are using xp its through media player, this is since the update as far as i can tell.

nah i've done the upgrade and still using wmp v10 and it streams fine from any folders i add to media connect

yes but you had media connect before the upgrade, from that setup website now, the only option is via WMP11, thats what i am trying to say, so anyone doing it for the first time now since the update uses WMP11
