My other car... Saxo VTS.

So a bit of a project really, but not in the normal why of ripping it apart and tracking it though this was the idea at first!

Picked it up about a month ago with the intention of putting the Cup back to standard and using the Saxo as a track car but decided against it as i've spent enough money on the Cup to get it to what it is now and seems pointless to undo it all. (and to keep James and Tom @ JMS happy)

So the plan now is too go bonkers on the Cup now and put the saxo back to completely standard/mint as possible and use it as when I need to. Its a 98 ph1 model with 98,000 miles with absolutely no rust anywhere on it and surprisingly its straight! Here's few pictures of it as its stands for the time being.

Apologies in advance for the crap pictures will get some clean/decent pictures when the weather decides to sort itself out!

Well i've stockpiled a few parts already

Exterior Parts.

A set of standard electric mirrors
A mint set of foglights.
A set of front arch liners.

Servicing Parts

Oil and filter
Air filter
Pollen filter
Front and rear Disks and Pads
New Spark plugs
New Ignition leads

So far £200 spent and theres not a lot more needed really. Just need a standard airbox and thats all the basic bits done!

The drive home was lovely, the engines very smooth and best of all its quiet and comfortable to drive! Didnt fail on me at all apart from a lorry knocking one of my mirrors off on the way home!

So a little bit of an update for today, set about getting the mirrors on and giving it a 'quick' clean. Didnt really do a lot else today as I was being lazy but tomorrow i'll be having the front bumper off and cleaning the arches/fitting the front arch liners.

Tbh mate I was when it happened, so glad it didnt though! Its amazing what a quick clean does to make a crap car look nice!

The car isn't going to be modified, going to bring it hopefully to a clean/mint standard example. Plus I couldn't be doing with having to uncomfy noisy cars, got the cup for that anyways.

Nothing wrong with a STD mint example of a VTS IMO. Bucks the saxo image for me. If you watch that old vid with Tiff and Vbh as well, not much real world between VTS and phs1

So bit of an update, took the saxo to Llandow as the clio wasnt up to task atm. Managed one session before it started leaking gearbox oil from one of the driveshaft seals, great start to the day! Luckily I still enjoyed the day being a passenger in everyones elses cars.

Then last night get back to the car in Fulham after watching Fulham play, car was broken into and stole my Girlfriends bag and my jacket... Yet the stupid thieving c**ts left the cd player and sat nav! I hope the person/people that did it and there family catch a non cureable disease and have the most painful rest of there lifes.

So now the saxo is going to be broken for spares as it is a bad omen and I cannot be arsed to fix it anymore.

Any people on here with a saxo that wants any bits fire me over a pm.

Yeah the gearbox for the Cup went about a month ago but a 2nd hand one should be here within the next couple of days. Then it will be sent off to be refurbished and fitted. Really cant wait to get back into the Cup now, the saxo has really been a let down.

i must say the mrs vtr has seen better days must be silver saxos mate heres what happen to ours in the past 4 months

bad back quater damage due to lorry hitting it (never gonna look the same again)
oil leak (bad)
needs brakes discs and pads
alarm broke
leaking sunroof and arieal
real bad knocking coming from front drivers side (could be anyting or everything)
washer jets broke (makes a sound and nothing comes out)
needs tyers
alloys need refurbing

will start to work on the beast soon lol still preping clio for mot

clio is in good shape at the moment only needs the new drivers seat fitting and good as new (almost) think its time to sell this thou now

Got brand new disks and pads all round and pretty much brand new tyres all round also on VTR wheels if your interested? The brakes have done less than 1000 miles and the tyres less than 2000 miles.

Screwdriver in the lock matey. Fucked the lock and dented the door, dont really wana sell it as is as i'll loose a shed load of money and cant sell it with ruined lock and door. Might as well break it for spares and make more money that way.
