Clio 182
Hi guys
been a member for a little while now so i though i would introduce myself. I am the proud owner a FF 182. Love the car in every way but its not been that smooth. Grew my love from a little 1.5 DCI that i owned around 2 years ago now. I know its not the fastest thing but I absolutely loved it and being a new driver put many many miles on it. It had just clocked 156,000 when I sold it. Took it to the Nurberg ring and basically drove a lot of Europe and the uk.
After unfortunately crashing that one (i know stupid) i went through a few cars and did not really get on with them apart from a 106 Rallye which I loved to bits. After getting a really good offer thou I sold that one as well
So I decided to back into Renault ownership and found a nice little 182. Slightly high mileage but had been very well looked after and knowing the owner I knew it was all motorway mileage. Drove just how I thought it would and was lovely to have a bit more go than the last one.
This is where it gets really painful. After driving it for around 4 months the dreaded dephaser pulley decided to let go. I replaced it even after all the advice to take it to a specialist. Brought all the correct locking tools and tbh even though it a bit tight and I may have sworn a good few times it honestly is not that bad. Would not recommend it as a first DIY job but i had some previous experience of engine building from the Rallye.
Then is where my heart broke some jealous person decides to key the side.
This was not the worst of it. After the re-spray it was parked up around 4 months later it a different place and it happened to the other side. I kind of lost heart in the car (hence the long while to introduce myself). Anyway its now back on the road. With a remap, exhaust and K&N filter and im sure much to come. Hope to get out to a few meets this year and meet some of you guys.
Cheers
Nick
