just spoken to the ombusman and basically im fucked they said well it says in their t&c's that they can get their money back therfor they are able to persue you for the money and i dont have a leg to stand on !!!

i sold my satnav system for £930 on paypal the buyer paid and came to collect the unit.

paypal then tell me its fraudulent and they want the money back.

i dont give them it back as far as i care its my money !!!

they send debt collectors around

i contact the ombusman who comes decides that i accepted paypals t&c's so thats it they can do what they want really.

no it wasnt his account he basically paid with someone elses credit card is what it boils down too

Exactly the same thing happened to me, but with a DVD Recorder, back in Jan 05, for the sum of £220.

The payment was cleared by Paypal, so I sent the DVD R out, then approx 3 weeks later, the transaction was reversed, and Paypal pursued me for the payment.

They did get a Debt Collector onto me until about July time (A company called OCD or NCD?) and threatened to get me credit blacklisted, unless I paid up in full, which I naturally did.

The police weren't interested, Paypal weren't interested, and neither were Watchdog.... talking of which, if we make some more noise about this now, together, maybe we can get this raised on Watchdog??

A complete sham, and to add insult to injury, my account is still suspended, so I am unable to buy anything and pay with Paypal!

a) Seek specialist legal advice
b) Call watchdog and pursue it endlessly. I'm sure they'd be interested to hear about a genuine, hard up, hard working lad losing £2,000+ for no reason.

well they charge you intrest also id be that much down as i paid 1300 for the pioneer unit in the first place and i dont have that so i spent all that money and i dont have f**k all to show for it

I've heared some bad things about Paypal in the past but have still used them. Having read your posts about this over the last few months, I've decided thats it, i'm going to use someone else. I use them as providers for an online shop, and i'm not going to leave myself open to the same problems you've had.

Keep fighting it though, they cant be allowed to get away with this.

Had you taken legal advice about bringing a private action against him to recover the monies owed as a result of his illegal action.

I'd strongly suggest this is your port of call.

I had exactly the same thing happen to me, for a sum of £320 for an Xbox i sold like over 9 months ago. Got a letter from some company called NCD trying to reclaim the money. Told them i wasn't paying it and i wasn't to know it was a fraudulent credit card. Haven't heard from them since.

I'll never use Paypal again, their are chumps and then some...
