I know most have seen the detail thread but I thought i'd keep this thread updated with little additions etc. Marc has a set of plates ready for me and see the pictures below of the new key that is was desperately needed! Really fancy some facelift rear lights, bloody 4 required! Clever Swedish t***s!

Thoughts so far? It's a brilliant saloon car. Something a bit left field that people are more interested in that a normal 3 series. It's usually followed by "I always fancied a Saab". At one point I don't doubt they had an ounce of prestige about them. Maybe prestige is the wrong word, upmarket?
It's quiet, filled with toys, some many gadgets to keep me entertained, especially in a car over a decade old.
It pulls likes a train and is currently doing 28mpg, dips to 26 at times due to my uber short journies.

New keys, last one fell apart like a 182 steering wheel!

New mats, 2 winter tyres to go on and new plates! Then Spring can't come quite enough for some waxing!

How much was the key? One of mine is noticeabley more used than they other but not quite ready for replaced yet.

Fully loaded I got 31mpg for the trip to Aberdeen and back at the weekend. It always seems to be a heavy journey on fuel and with terrible weather and lots of delays I'm pretty happy with that.

Key was £7/8. Bought it the other week. 3 minutes to change everything over. Bingo bango. All keys should be made like that.

It's 210bhp 2.0t mate. Nothing ground breaking but never fails to pull.

Yup. EBay. Make sure you get the right bad for facelift mate.

Aeros are for winners. Gotta be black, with black interior.

Map up to to 250 before you start changing mechanicals.
It wont like too much more than that, although it's not exactly a Viggen, so you don't have to fear every roadside item.

Thing is, SAABs aren't for mapping, yo mad turbo n sik lowz.
Because they're not for chavs

The dark nights don't help with pictures tbf but i'll get some on Thursday hopefully. Need a video of Finest sheeting anyway.

40% Vectra.
And there's a supplier who bought all the leftover parts from SAAB.
Besides, with this vintage 93 a breakers is just as good.

How the f**k does mapping a car turn in to sik lowz? Or a chav mobile? With 250bhp it'd be almost the perfect barge.
Best tell Hirsch they've got it all wrong.

Its a slippery slope.
It all starts with "just a remap". Next thing you know you've got a hello kitty swingingt from the rear tow-eye....of a front-dragger car ;)
As for "perfect barge"......
9-5 aero estate ;)

One minute it's just a map, next it's a dildo gearknob iirc..lol
9-5's are just a bit too big imo.

exactly!
naaaah, 9-5 are spot on. Ultimate over-sized holdall.
But then, I prefered the older 9-3...the one you could get a coupe of...and a viggen convertible for ultimate can't-drive-forward excitement

The 9-5 is ungainly looking imo, the 9-3 looks superb imo. That Red facelift on here is awesome spec, look fantastic inside much more modern than mine.

Just seems a helluva lot of car for the money!

I agree looks lush!

What sort of toys do you get Gally? I do like them, especially the face lift one

Found a mint '04 1.8i(non turbo Vauxhall 16V motor) with 63K on it, for £1750 3 years ago. So much car for the money. Not a fast car, but quite well equipped, comfy, and great handling, all at 36mpg.

Not missing much bar full leather, nav and a sunroof I think. Bluetooth has all been integrated.

guessing its one of those with the green-screen audio system... the canbus one that you cant change out without serious pain

Yeah it will be. When you get to 07 on and get a silver strip round the dash is when you can change the stereo relatively straightforwardly.

But they then also got those s**t-awful glasses-rim around the headlights.
There was a small period in '06 where you could have the easy-swap stereo AND a less retarded front end.
But, really....

it's the SAAB we all want :)

^
My mate has one of those. Some "special edition". Bought it for £500.00 one owner from new. It's mint apart from the back box falling off..lol

Thats a Viggen.
a 9-3 with the yamaha 2.3l turbo.
230hp, no front-end rigidity. All the torque steer, but so damn nice.
If he bought one for £500 then it was either
1) not a viggen, just an Aero Spec edition coupe
2) utterly shagged

:)
