My Seat Leon Cupra R

I've been looking for a new winter daily for a while as the Evo is off the road for the winter and the silver 182 was sold.

Never really considered a Leon but the more I looked at them the more it made sense (I've got three kids so the four dOors are great).

I decided I wanted a Cupra r with the 225 BAM engine in so set about looking at a few. After viewing a few heavily modified ones I came across this one on Scumtree.

Few forge bits and a jabba map but other than that more or less standard.

Went up last night with doncaster_k9 and liked it so ended up coming home with it.

Not many pics at the moment as its not stopped raining since I bought it! I know everyone says they're boring etc but for what I'm using it for it should see me over the next few months.

The red one is Phils and the black one is mine.

I quite enjoyed mine for a daily/runabout.

I wouldn't say it was boring but It didn't really feel like a sporty hatch, went alright in a straight line though lol.

Nice! I was looking at these before I got the mini. All the ones I looked at were lemons so gave up after months of searching.

A mate I used to work with had a yellow one running 320 bhp.

I drove it a fair bit and never found it boring in fact it was pretty entertaining with that sort of power.

The red one looks great on those wheels.
I also prefer it with just the front wind deflectors - the rears make it look too fussy.

I actually prefer the look of your car on standard wheels, I think the red one looks like a chav mobile.

Nice purchase.

Mine was fast but boring as f**k, also leaked like a sieve.

Looked awesome though.

The seals? Mines had them replaced at great expense.

Phils is so bad we call it the titanic.

No mate, somewhere on the bulkhead. We couldn't even find it with an air compressor. I was told by the garage it would need to be a dash out job...I ended up trading it in for the Honda.

Used to always leak when parked on a hill, water pissed in from behind the steering column.

Pain in the arse.

It'll cost less than a fiver and half hour of your time to sort,

Bathroom sealant, door card off, all the 10mm bolts off holding the metal door card on then sealant all the way around and re bolt back on. I had swimming pools in my foot wells until I did that.

Yep I had to do this on your advice. Took no time tbh.
Is this inspiring the Torpedo to come out?

I've been meaning to get it out for months now, tried the other week but the battery is full on fucked even after a weeks charge. I have a new hybrid turbo in the unit incase the one on it is fucked. We want to track it now, strip it, buckets, cage and LSD. The bloke in the next unit has some grey evo recaros but I want lighter. Once I actually get started i'll get the thread going again.

So today was my first clean of the Leon.

The process I used was decontaminate, snow foam, two bucket, AG super resin, poor boys black hole, AG hd wax and relax. Tyres dressed in turtle wax tyre shine.

Pretty happy with the results - it needs a once over with the DA but this will do for winter.
